The South Central Partnership was formed by merging three different collaborative networks; the United Way Health and Human Service Council, Continuum of Care, and the WeCAN collaboration of Webster, Clay, Adams, and Nuckolls Counties. Faced with the challenges of better serving their communities, the members of each entity decided to come together to network, brainstorm, and generate outcomes. By learning and working together, the Partnership hopes to achieve its mission to identify and deliver health and human service solutions that will strengthen our future. SCP programs and initiatives include an emergency dental care program for people who cannot afford it on their own, a Winterization project that provides winterization materials and volunteer installation for people on a low or fixed income, and a State recognized Hunger and Homelessness Awareness program that provides vital support to area food pantries as well as invaluable community awareness about the pressing needs of the homeless and near homeless in our area. Beyond individual projects, the partnership also serves as the home for collaborative networks like the area Coalition of Child Abuse Prevention Councils and the local chapter of the Continuum of Care. By working together, we really can make a difference in our communities. The South Central Partnership provides a dynamic and creative outlet to respond to the needs of our area; and to do it together.
